SNOW SHOWERS

just yesterday, between the frogs & peepers & birds at the feeder, these are wonderful signs of Spring...along came a morning of snow showers, we are back to the wintery mood again...silence broken by blowing winds out my window

looked up from my breakfast this morning, & saw this outside the window...what a way to stay my day!

DOODLINGS

If one is an artist, it helps to have the soul of a gypsy, to stay fresh....it's also very nice to just stay home for some mindless doodlings

after 2 weeks of living in the city, it's possible to hear & feel the silence in the mountain...well, till the black birds all congregate by the babbling brook, their chatter is almost as loud as rush hour traffic

DUMBARTON OAKS

Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, DC is a real little gem, the 10 acres garden is design to perfection by Beatrix Farrand...so much beauty & peace in the middle of Geargetown...have painted this secret garden many times over the years

CHERRY BLOSSOM

after a nice warm spring break in Washington,DC, it's back to the arctic air of upstate, NY...there's more than 3,000 cherry trees around the capital, which makes for a memorable visit with lots of painting excursions....the official Cherry Blossom Festival runs from March 28-April 12, 2009

BLEAK

well, my bags are packed, double check on my art supply....off to another road trip for an early spring...I guess I wont miss these bare trees much

reflection from the snow & sun is blinding today....but too cold to venture out, spend half the day working in my bed....it's kind of fun...beats driving to the office

looks like a day of shoveling snow & painting....having warm toes & hands in this weather is about as good as it's going to get...this is the last of my valentine flower, must make a detour to the florist soon

looks like another storm coming thru the mountain...too bad, this is the first time my driveway is clear of snow this whole winter
